Semarang – Wednesday (08/08/18), Oceanography Department, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Diponegoro University (FPIK Undip) accepts new students in the 2018/2019 academic year, reported from the information of the FPIK Undip the number of verified 2018 new students at the Faculty level of 751 on 2018 new students and students in the Oceanography Department as many as 128 students, the enthusiasm of applicants for new students in the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences is quite high with the number of applicants reaching 13,927 registrants and in the Oceanography Department as many as 3,532 registrants.

New student admission of 2018, known as 2018 Young Diponegoro Orientation, abbreviated as ODM, activity is a series of activities to introduce Diponegoro University new students to the teaching, facilities and learning culture systems in Diponegoro University, ODM 2018 activities begin on Monday (6/08/18) by holding an ODM Ceremony Diponegoro University 2018, on Tuesday (6/08/18) ODM 2018 activities, namely the ceremony of admitting new students at the Faculty level by the dean, vice dean, department chair / secretary and professors of members of the academic senate FPIK Undip.

The next program was an explanation of representatives of guardian lecturers, filling in KRS, and filling out new student data forms by the Guardian Lecturer, in addition to the introduction of the Oceanographic Department there was a motivational session for new students given by guest lecturers from Boston University, namely Prof. Magaly Koch.

The activity after the afternoon break was for new students to take part in the UKMF Expo (Student Activity Unit) which was held at the FPIK Undip Building, Expo UKMF to introduce student activities under the auspices of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences Undip, including the Ocean Modeling Study Group. Survey and Oceanographic Instruments, Remote Sensing & Marine GIS, Mangrove Ecosystems and others.
Before the closing ceremony, new students take part in an Oceanographic Laboratory visit including a visit to the Computing Laboratory.
